Illegal Alien Arrested in Boston Wanted for Assault, Battery and Gross Lewdness Charges

by Breaking Local News Report

BOSTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a 25-year-old Dominican national in Dorchester on Jan. 29 after local authorities failed to honor an immigration detainer. The individual faces charges of indecent assault and battery, assault and battery, and gross lewdness.

“This arrest underscores ICE’s unyielding commitment to public safety and our resolve to hold dangerous criminal aliens accountable, no matter the obstacles,” said Patricia Hyde, acting field office director for ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston.

The U.S. Border Patrol first apprehended the individual in June 2022 after he unlawfully entered the United States near Rio Grande, Texas. He was detained at the Bluebonnet Detention Facility before being released on parole.

Boston police arrested him on July 1, 2024, on multiple charges, but local authorities did not cooperate with ICE’s detainer request. ICE agents then conducted an enforcement operation in Dorchester to take him into custody.

The individual remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

After evading an ICE detainer, a Dominican national accused of assault is now back in federal custody.
