Dream leads Union County player to $1.5M lottery jackpot

by Local News Report

TRENTON, NJ — A Union County resident is $1.5 million richer after acting on a dream and winning big in the Jersey Cash 5 drawing held on February 26, according to New Jersey Lottery officials.

The winning ticket, purchased at EZ Check Food Store in Rahway, marked the 11th Jersey Cash 5 jackpot win of 2025 and the third so far this year to exceed $1 million. The winning numbers were 14, 20, 29, 30, and 45 — selected by a quick pick.

The player, who requested anonymity, described the win as life-changing, particularly after losing their job in November. While no immediate spending plans were shared, the winner expressed intent to use the money wisely.

The $1.5 million prize adds to a growing list of high-value Jersey Cash 5 wins, keeping pace with 2024’s total of 75 jackpots, 13 of which topped $1 million.

Jersey Cash 5 is one of New Jersey’s most popular draw games, with nightly drawings and a jackpot that continues to grow until it’s hit.
