Intruder caught after daytime apartment burglary while victim was home in DC

WASHINGTON, DC — A Southeast DC man has been arrested and charged in connection with a residential burglary that took place while the victim was home in Northeast DC, police announced Thursday.

The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, when the victim, alone inside their apartment in the 1200 block of 3rd Street, Northeast, heard noises coming from the kitchen. Upon checking, they encountered an unknown man who fled the scene with stolen property.

After an investigation, police arrested 25-year-old William Moyler Jr. of Southeast, DC, on Wednesday, March 26. He has been charged with Burglary One.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Officials did not disclose the nature or value of the items taken from the apartment.
