Software engineer scores big in Virginia Lottery draw

by Local News Report

LEESBURG, VA – A Virginia Lottery player is $1 million richer after matching the first five numbers in the Cash4Life® drawing on March 23 and choosing the one-time cash payout option.

Brian Brurok of Leesburg purchased the winning ticket through the Virginia Lottery’s mobile app using Easy Pick, which randomly selected the numbers: 2, 8, 22, 40, 54, with a Cash Ball of 2.

Rather than taking the $1,000-per-week-for-life prize, Brurok, a software engineer, chose the $1 million lump-sum cash payment before taxes.

He said he plans to use the money to support his family.

Cash4Life® is played in ten states and features nightly drawings at 9 p.m. The odds of winning the second-tier $1,000-per-week-for-life prize are 1 in 7.2 million.

Brurok lives in Loudoun County, which received over $23.6 million from the Virginia Lottery for K-12 education last fiscal year.
