Ocean City Police respond to bridge jumper on Route 52

OCEAN CITY, NJ – On Sunday, police officers responded to an incident on Route 52 where witnesses reported a man seemingly leaping from the bridge.

Despite the quick arrival of several officers, they initially failed to locate the individual. An immediate and detailed search followed, prompted by witness reports.

Authorities enlisted the help of various agencies, including the Coast Guard and New Jersey State Police, to assist in the search for the missing individual. Police department drones were deployed to aid in the effort to locate the man.

After an intensive investigation by detectives, the subject was identified.

The male subject was eventually located at a residence in Somers Point following the investigation.

He was transported to Cooper Cape Regional Medical Center for precautionary reasons for evaluation. The Ocean City
