Two from Toms River arrested for crack during Route 33 Traffic Stop

TINTON FALLS, NJ — Two Toms River residents were arrested Friday after a routine traffic stop on Route 33 led to the discovery of crack cocaine and a weapon, according to the Borough of Tinton Falls Police Department.

Sgt. Christopher Whalen stopped a vehicle on May 2 and arrested Samuel Gerve, 43, and Anna Kruge, 34, on charges of contempt of court, possession of crack cocaine, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Officers Michael Pyzik, Anthony Costanza, and Gabrielle DeGroat assisted with the stop and arrest. Details regarding the specific nature of the weapon were not immediately disclosed.

Gerve and Kruge were processed at police headquarters before being transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
