Woman groped at 46th Street-Bliss subway station, suspect fled on 7 train

The NYPD is investigating after a woman was groped at a Queens subway station late Wednesday night.

QUEENS, N.Y. — Police are searching for a suspect after a woman was groped while leaving a Queens subway station late Wednesday night.

The NYPD said the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. as a 40-year-old woman was exiting the 46th Street-Bliss Street station when an unidentified individual came up from behind and slapped her buttocks.

The suspect immediately fled the area by boarding a Manhattan-bound “7” train, though police could not confirm the direction in which the train was traveling.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident, and the victim did not require medical attention at the scene.

Police did not provide a description of the suspect and have not made any arrests.

NYPD seeks assistance in sexual misconduct case

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from the subway station and train platforms in an effort to identify the suspect.

“The individual fled aboard a ‘7’ train in an unknown direction,” the NYPD reported in its initial statement.

The 46th Street-Bliss Street station is located in the Sunnyside section of Queens and is served by the 7 line, which runs between Queens and Manhattan.

Authorities have asked anyone with information to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline.
