DANBURY, CT — A scratch-off ticket sold at a popular Danbury deli has netted a Brookfield resident a $20,000 lottery prize, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
The winning ticket was part of the “20X Cash 9th Edition” scratch game and was purchased at White Turkey Deli, located on White Street in Danbury. The winner, who has not been publicly identified, claimed the prize on Monday.
The 20X Cash 9th Edition is a $10 instant ticket offering top prizes up to $100,000. According to the lottery, multiple mid-tier prizes ranging from $100 to $20,000 remain active in circulation.
White Turkey Deli, which sold the winning ticket, is expected to receive a retailer commission from the Connecticut Lottery for the sale.
CT Lottery maintains a policy of publicly posting all winning claims over $10,000 but does not release personal details unless winners opt to go public. In this case, only the town of the winner—Brookfield—was shared.
More scratch wins reported across Connecticut
This $20,000 win adds to a string of recent scratch-off prizes in Fairfield County. In the last two weeks, players from Norwalk and Stamford also claimed five-figure prizes from instant ticket games.
Winning tickets must be redeemed within 180 days of the game’s announced end date. The Connecticut Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchase to ensure rightful claims.
