Truck fire blocks lanes on New Jersey Turnpike near George Washington Bridge

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — A truck fire on the northbound local lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike/I-95 disrupted traffic Wednesday morning just south of Exit 72, near the George Washington Bridge.

According to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the incident began at approximately 9:24 a.m. and as of 10:12 a.m., two of the four northbound local lanes remain blocked.

The fire occurred in the Englewood area, impacting traffic headed toward the major bridge crossing into New York. Emergency crews are on scene.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and consider alternate routes until the lanes reopen.
