WASHINGTON, D.C. — Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in Southeast D.C. on Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to the 4200 block of 6th Street, Southeast, around 4:09 p.m. yesterday, after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Asonta Dunmore, of Southeast D.C., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Dunmore was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
