6-Year-Old NYC Boy Attacked by Man at Queens Playground

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of striking a 6-year-old boy in the head at a playground in Queens.

The NYPD is investigating an assault involving a young child that occurred Monday evening at the playground of P.S. 144 in Queens.

According to police, the incident happened at approximately 6 p.m. on June 15 inside the school playground located at 69-49 Kessel Street within the confines of the 112th Precinct.

Child Reportedly Struck in Head

Investigators said an unidentified individual approached a 6-year-old boy and struck him in the back of the head with an open hand.

The child was with his mother at the time of the incident.

Police said the boy complained of pain following the alleged assault. No additional information about his condition was immediately released.

Suspect Remains Unidentified

The NYPD has not released a description of the individual and continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to come forward.
