Denver Man Charged After DUI Crash Results in Serious Injury

DENVER, PA- James Giuca, 37, of Denver, PA, has been charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, two counts of driving under the influence, and a summary traffic violation following a single-vehicle crash on East Swartzville Road. The incident occurred on May 13, 2024, at approximately 2:25 AM.

Giuca lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve, veered off the road, and struck a tree. The crash resulted in his passenger being trapped inside the vehicle and requiring extrication. The passenger was subsequently transported to a local hospital for emergency surgery.

Officers at the scene determined Giuca was impaired, with a breath test revealing a blood alcohol concentration of .184%. Giuca has been issued a summons to appear in District Court.
