Maryland woman waits days to scratch ticket then lands $200K prize
Baltimore, MD — A Maryland woman who let a lottery ticket sit untouched for days ended up uncovering a $200,000 prize after finally deciding to scratch it.
The Upper Marlboro resident purchased a $50 $5,000,000 LUXE scratch-off at Crain Convenience & Tobacco on Crain Highway in Bowie after encouragement from her boyfriend.
She set the ticket aside before eventually scratching it at home, revealing a single matching number on the final row worth $200,000.
The winner claimed the prize April 30 at Maryland Lottery headquarters.
She said she plans to use the winnings to pay bills and contribute to her retirement savings.
Lottery officials said the $5,000,000 LUXE game launched in February and includes multiple top prizes still unclaimed.
The Bowie retailer will receive a bonus for selling the winning ticket.
