Arrest made days after deadly West Baltimore Street attack
BALTIMORE, Md. — A woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old that occurred in Southwest Baltimore late last month, police announced.
According to the Baltimore Police Department, 34-year-old Dasianne Richardson was arrested Aug. 1 in connection with the July 25 killing of 18-year-old Brielle Handy.
Officers responded at approximately 8 p.m. July 25 to the 3200 block of West Baltimore Street for a reported stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found Handy suffering from a stab wound.
She was transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Baltimore homicide detectives took over the investigation and later identified Richardson as the suspect.
Police said Richardson was arrested by Warrant Apprehension detectives and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where she was charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation remains ongoing.
