Newark police seeking public assistance in identifying assault and robbery suspect

NEWARK, NJ – the Newark police department is seeking The public’s assistance in identifying an assault and robbery suspect for an incident that occurred on Thursday.

According to police, at approximately 5:40 a.m., officers responded to Highland Avenue and Park Avenue on a call of a robbery. A male victim was approached by three Black males who arrived in a stolen BMW X5 with NJ registration No. SV723D.

“The three suspects surrounded the victim, assaulted him, and went through the victim’s pockets before fleeing north in the stolen vehicle heading on Highland Avenue towards Bloomfield Avenue. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment of his injuries and is reportedly in stable condition,” police said.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying the below-depicted suspect.
