Cumberland cops cuff woman accused of assaulting man

Cumberland woman arrested for second-degree assault following Williams Street incident

CUMBERLAND, MD – A 41-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with an assault reported earlier this week on Williams Street, according to the Cumberland Police Department.

Heather Marie Nines was taken into custody on January 27 after an arrest warrant was issued stemming from an alleged assault that occurred on January 25 in the 300 block of Williams Street. The male victim reported to police that he had been physically assaulted by Nines.

Following an investigation, officers filed for charges at the District Court of Allegany County. Nines was arrested without incident and transported for a bond hearing before a District Court Commissioner. She was released on her own recognizance.

Nines is charged with one count of second-degree assault.
