Cumberland woman charged in Baltimore Avenue assault

Woman charged with second-degree assault following January 8 incident

Cumberland, MD – A 35-year-old woman has been served with a criminal summons in connection with an assault reported earlier this month on Baltimore Avenue, according to a press release from the Cumberland Police Department.

Lacey J. Getson, of Cumberland, was officially charged on Monday, January 26, in relation to an incident that took place on the afternoon of January 8. At approximately 5:03 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Baltimore Avenue for a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, police spoke with the alleged victim, who reported being assaulted by Getson. By the time officers arrived, Getson had already left the scene. Following an investigation, officers filed for charges through the District Court of Allegany County.

Getson was served a criminal summons and released pending trial. She is charged with one count of second-degree assault.
