Suitland man tracked down in South Carolina after fatal daytime shooting

Suitland, MD – A 32-year-old man accused of gunning down another man in broad daylight outside a residential block in Suitland was captured in South Carolina following a multi-agency manhunt, officials said.

Joshua Dawson, of Suitland, was arrested with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service and Myrtle Beach Police just days after police say he shot and killed Brandon Foulks, 32, during an argument on Suitland Road. The two men were known to each other, investigators revealed.

The deadly encounter happened around 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, when officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3900 block of Suitland Road. They found Foulks unresponsive outside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say they quickly developed Dawson as a suspect using multiple investigative methods. The preliminary findings indicate a personal dispute led to the fatal gunfire.
