Suspect arrested in connection with deadly Suitland shooting

Suitland, MD — A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred earlier this month in Suitland, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Investigators identified the suspect as Joshua Dawson of Suitland. He is accused of killing 32-year-old Brandon Foulks, also of Suitland.

Police said that on January 18 at around 11:20 a.m., officers responded to the 3900 block of Suitland Road for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Foulks outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives said the preliminary investigation indicates Dawson shot Foulks during an argument. The two men were known to each other.

With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Myrtle Beach Police Department, Dawson was located and arrested in South Carolina. He remains in custody there pending extradition to Maryland.

Dawson has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related offenses.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit at 301-516-2512.
