FDNY Firefighter Arrested on Weapons Charges in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City firefighter was arrested Thursday night in Brooklyn on multiple weapons charges, according to authorities. The arrest occurred within the confines of the NYPD’s 70th Precinct at approximately 10:10 p.m.

The firefighter, identified as 39-year-old Roban Duge, faces several charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon: Firearm in the Fourth Degree.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the arrest were not immediately available. The NYPD has not released further information on the type of weapon involved or the events leading up to the charges.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” the NYPD said in a brief statement. The Fire Department of New York has yet to comment on the arrest or whether any disciplinary action will be taken against Duge.

The charges against Duge are severe, particularly the second-degree weapon possession charge, which is classified as a felony under New York State law. The case will likely proceed through the Brooklyn Criminal Court, though a court date has not been announced.
