A half million dollar scratch off win and a $305K Racetrax jackpot highlighted a week that saw Maryland Lottery players collect more than $32 million in prizes
Baltimore, Md. — A lucky ticket sold at a Silver Spring grocery store delivered a $500,000 payday and capped off a massive week for Maryland Lottery players, who claimed more than $32 million in prizes and produced dozens of five-figure winners across the state.
The biggest prize of the week was a $500,000 winning Gifts of Green scratch-off ticket sold at Giant, located at 11221 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, according to the Maryland Lottery.
Racetrax players also had a banner week. The computer-simulated horse racing game produced a $305,776.50 winning ticket sold June 19 at an Exxon station on Reece Road in Severn. As of Sunday, the prize remained unclaimed.
Racetrax generated 17 winning tickets worth at least $10,500 during the week, including prizes of $61,155.30 in Catonsville and Silver Spring, $60,428.10 in Baltimore, and $53,144 in Baltimore.
Across all games, the Maryland Lottery said it paid more than $32 million in prizes from June 15 through June 21, including 39 tickets worth at least $10,000.
Other major wins included a $100,000 Powerball ticket sold June 20 at Royal Farms on Edgewood Road in Edgewood. The ticket remained unclaimed as of Sunday.
A Bonus Match 5 ticket worth $50,000 sold at Big Z Liquors in District Heights also remained unclaimed, along with a $50,000 Pick 5 ticket sold at a Sunoco station on York Road in Baltimore.
Several scratch-off tickets worth $10,000 were sold throughout the state, including tickets purchased in Aberdeen, Bethesda, District Heights, Rockville, Bel Air, Charlotte Hall, Fruitland, Lusby and White Plains.
Maryland Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe place. Prizes larger than $25,000 must be redeemed at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore by appointment.
