Teen with knife arrested after chase and robbery near Stafford neighborhood

Stafford County, VA — A juvenile suspect was taken into custody after chasing and robbing another minor at knifepoint in a Stafford County neighborhood, authorities said.

The incident occurred Tuesday around 4:17 p.m. near Saint Roberts Drive, where the victim, also a juvenile, reported prior negative interactions with the suspect before the encounter escalated. According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was seen hiding in bushes before running after the victim and committing the robbery while armed with a knife.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

Deputies and detectives responded to the scene and canvassed the area, speaking with the victim and witnesses to establish the sequence of events. The suspect was later located and detained by the Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit.

Following questioning, the juvenile was charged with robbery as well as assault and battery and transported to the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and no additional details will be released at this time. Authorities also stated there is no ongoing threat to the community.
