Man pulled from water near North Channel Bridge identified as Queens resident

QUEENS, N.Y. — A man who was pulled from the water near the North Channel Bridge on Sunday evening has been identified by police as 62-year-old Mark Graham of Queens.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 5:48 p.m. at the intersection of North Channel Bridge and Cross Bay Boulevard, within the jurisdiction of the NYPD’s 100th Precinct. Upon arrival, authorities were told that an unconscious and unresponsive adult male had been pulled to shore by a bystander.

EMS arrived shortly afterward and transported the man to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police identified the deceased as Graham, a resident of 142-14 116th Avenue in Queens.

The cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The investigation remains ongoing.
