Gaithersburg shopper hits $311K jackpot on new FAST PLAY 20X Cash ticket

Gaithersburg, MD – A Thursday evening grocery run turned into a six-figure windfall for one lucky shopper, who scored a $311,795 progressive jackpot on the brand-new FAST PLAY 20X Cash game just days after its release.

The winning $20 ticket was sold at the Giant Food store located at 46 Bureau Drive in Gaithersburg. The ticket marks the first progressive jackpot winner in the FAST PLAY 20X Cash game, which launched Monday. In addition to the jackpot, the retailer received a $1,000 bonus for selling the prize-winning ticket.

According to the Maryland Lottery, the progressive jackpot in the 20X Cash game starts at $300,000 and increases with every ticket sold until someone wins. Following this first jackpot, the top prize has already reset and climbed to nearly $301,000 by mid-morning Friday.

The game originally launched with 20 progressive jackpots, and 19 still remain. In addition to the grand prize, the game offers tens of thousands of lower-tier prizes ranging from $40 to $10,000.

The Maryland Lottery encourages the winner to sign the back of the ticket and store it securely. The winner has 182 days from the game’s launch on Sept. 8 to claim the prize. Prizes over $25,000 must be claimed through the Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore by appointment.

Instructions for scheduling appointments and claiming prizes are listed on the Lottery’s official website.
