Gold minivan driver sought in Newark package theft caught on camera

Newark, NJ – A package was taken from the front of a Littleton Avenue home early Wednesday morning, and police are asking for help identifying the suspect captured on surveillance video leaving the scene in a gold Toyota minivan.

The theft occurred February 11 at approximately 7:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Littleton Avenue, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Authorities said the suspect removed the package from the front of the residence before getting into a gold Toyota minivan and driving away. Additional details about the contents or value of the package were not released.

Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to contact the Police Division’s 24 hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS. Anonymous tips are kept confidential and may be eligible for a reward. Tips can also be submitted through the Newark Police Division website.
