Philadelphia officials identify local victim killed in medical jet crash

PHILADELPHIA — Authorities have identified the victim killed when a medical jet crashed on Cottman Avenue last week, police said.

The crash occurred on Friday, January 31, at 6:07 p.m., when Medical Jet Flight 56 went down on the 2300 block of Cottman Avenue. At the time, several vehicles were traveling on the roadway.

First responders discovered a deceased individual inside one of the vehicles at the scene. The Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as 37-year-old Steven Dreuitt of Philadelphia.

Authorities have not yet released further details on the crash or what may have caused it.
