Same numbers twice deliver double win in Ohio Lottery

Double ticket play pays off with $50K win for Lake County woman

Willoughby, OH — A simple decision to play the same numbers twice turned into a $50,000 lottery win for a Lake County woman who saw both of her tickets hit in the same drawing.

The Willoughby resident purchased two Pick 5 tickets using identical numbers — 2-4-4-4-5 — for the January 10 drawing. Each $.50 straight bet paid $25,000, bringing her total winnings to $50,000.

After required federal and state taxes totaling 26.75%, the winner will receive $36,625.

The winning tickets were sold at Richmond Heights Sunoco, located at 26005 Chardon Road in Richmond Heights.

Lottery officials said the odds of matching all five numbers in exact order are 1 in 100,000.

The winner recently claimed the prize and said she plans to use the money to pay off debt.
