Stolen car packed with drugs seized in Brooklyn Park

Stolen car, drugs, and cash recovered in Brooklyn Park arrest

Brooklyn Park, MD – Two suspects were arrested and a third fled after police recovered a stolen vehicle filled with suspected drugs and cash in Brooklyn Park, officials said Friday.

On November 28 at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers were alerted by an Automated License Plate Reader to a stolen black 2021 Acura IIX near Church Street and Disney Avenue. The vehicle was found unoccupied.

Shortly after, three males exited a nearby convenience store. One approached the Acura and unlocked it using a remote key fob. All three fled upon spotting police. A perimeter was established, and a patrol drone located two of the suspects, who were taken into custody.

Police recovered approximately 1.1 pounds of suspected cannabis packaged for distribution, 15 suboxone strips, $993 in cash, and a key fob programming device from the vehicle.

Arrested were Dashawn Marvin Kendale Squirrel, 23, of Brooklyn Park, and a 16-year-old male from Brooklyn.
