Teen girl and boy busted in deadly Somerset County shooting

Salisbury teens charged with murder in deadly Somerset County shooting

Princess Anne, MD — A deadly Monday morning shooting in rural Somerset County led to the arrest of two Salisbury teenagers, now facing first-degree murder charges in a case that has rocked Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

The suspects — a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy — were arrested separately in the hours following the fatal shooting near Stewart Neck Road and Beckford Road. According to Maryland State Police, both are now charged with first-degree felony murder, second-degree murder, robbery, and other related offenses.

The girl was located shortly after the incident and taken into custody without incident. She was processed at the Princess Anne Barrack and transferred to the Somerset County Detention Center, where she is being held without bond.

The 16-year-old boy was apprehended Tuesday morning at around 9:45 a.m. at a home in Salisbury. He was also arrested without incident and taken to the Salisbury Barrack for booking.

While authorities have not yet released the identity of the shooting victim or a possible motive, investigators confirmed the charges followed consultation with the Somerset County State’s Attorney. Police say additional arrests are possible as the investigation continues.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the small Eastern Shore community, where violent crimes involving juveniles remain rare.
