Two lucky New Yorkers strike it big in TAKE 5 Evening drawing

Winning Evening drawing tickets were sold in Brooklyn and Deer Park on the same night

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Two lucky New York Lottery players are holding winning TAKE 5 tickets after top-prize tickets from the same Evening drawing were sold in Brooklyn and on Long Island, according to lottery officials.

The winning tickets for the May 16 TAKE 5 EVENING drawing were sold at I & B Check Cashing, located at 2966 Ave. U in Brooklyn, and Deer Park Lucky Corner Inc., located at 863 Long Island Ave. in Deer Park.

Lottery officials said each ticket matched all five numbers drawn during the evening game, earning prizes worth $16,257.

TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39. Drawings are televised twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Winners of New York Lottery draw games have up to one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

The New York Lottery said it remains North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, contributing $3.6 billion during the 2024-2025 fiscal year to support public schools across New York State.
