Women and Young Girls in All-Out Brawl in Atlantic City, 12 Arrested

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A chaotic scene resulted in the arrest of eight females, including four juveniles, after a violent encounter with police officers on Tuesday night. Atlantic City Police Department responded to reports of a fight involving a large group on north Delaware Avenue around 8:20 PM.

During the officers’ attempt to manage and dissolve the fight, several members of the group assaulted the officers and obstructed the arrest process. Initially, three females were taken into custody at the scene.

Further investigation led to the identification and arrest of five additional females believed to have assaulted officers and interfered with official police duties.

The operation was overseen by Officers William Harned and Adrianna Petinga, under the guidance of Sergeant Daniel Arra.

Chief James Sarkos emphasized the department’s commitment to pursuing charges against those who threaten public safety and police security. He praised the officers’ professionalism during the incident.

Among the adults arrested was Amanda Bethel, 32, from Mays Landing, NJ, who faces multiple charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and inciting a riot. The juveniles, ranging from 12 to 14 years old, were charged and released on summons, awaiting further court proceedings.

The accused parties are held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility, with all criminal charges pending court adjudication.
