Columbus police investigating another murder

COLUMBUS, OH – Columbus police are investigating the murder of a 38-year-old man that occurred overnight.

On December 10, 2021 at 10:40 pm, Columbus Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. 12th Ave. on a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a blood trail; however, were unable to locate a victim. A short time later, officers received information that a walk-in shooting victim arrived at OSU Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.

The victim, 38-year-old Fentahun Mengistu, despite receiving emergency lifesaving medical treatment, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 11:19 pm.

At this time, investigators are attempting to determine the circumstances associated with this incident. Investigators obtained information that the victim was shot at from a motor vehicle that fled the area.
