Gang Member Arrested Attempting Illegal Entry in the Mountains

OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a gang member early Saturday morning in the Jacumba Wilderness Region.

At 12:10 a.m., agents assigned to the El Centro station encountered an undocumented individual who illegally entered the United States, four miles north of the U.S./Mexico border. The individual was arrested and transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center to be further medically evaluated and processed accordingly.  

Record checks revealed this individual is a documented member of a street gang known as the “Border Brothers” and has extensive criminal and immigration history that includes numerous felony and misdemeanor convictions as well as a re-entry after deportation.  This individual was previously ordered to be removed from the U.S. by an immigration judge.

U.S. Border Patrol will process this individual accordingly.
