Utica Man Ambushed, Shot In Front of Home on Neilson Street

UTICA, NY – A Utica man was ambushed and shot by an unknown suspect while in front of a home in the 1500 block of Neilson Street near Arthur Street early Saturday morning.

According to police, at 12:35 AM, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Neilson St near Arthur St regarding a gunshot victim. Upon arrival the officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his thigh.

“It was learned that the victim was seated in his vehicle when a party wearing dark clothing approached and fired rounds at him striking him once. The suspect then fled eastbound through the yards from the scene,” police reported.

The victim was transported by The Utica Fire Department to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
