WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating a shooting that left five men injured and a 24 year-old man dead. The shooting took place on the 1500 Block of F Street in Northeast D.C. on Monday night. This week has been a very difficult week for D.C. as there have been several shootings all over the city leaving many injured and several dead.
According to police, “At approximately 8:28 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located six adult male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, one of the victims remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The additional five victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.”
24 year-old Lance Melvin of Southeast, D.C. has been identified as the deceased victim.
