Fight outside Philadelphia recreation center leads to shots fired, injuring worker

PHILADELPHIA, PA –  Philadelphia Police Department is searching for four suspects involved in a shooting outside the Patani Recreation Center on North 22nd Street last Tuesday.

Detectives released video footage of the fight before the shooting and the escalation into a shooting that left one recreation center worker shot.

The Philadelphia Police Department and the Shooting Investigation Group is now asking the public to assist in identifying the suspects who are believed to be juveniles and adults.

“As the fight began, two males were observed exchanging a firearm by the front doors of the rec center,” detectives said. “As the fight progressed towards the corner of 22nd and Clearfield multiple shots were fired, striking a rec center employee inside of her vehicle. One suspect continued to fire shots while running around the rec center and through the basketball courts. An additional two suspects were seen on police cameras at 22nd and Clearfield St handing off a firearm before fleeing the area.”

The suspects were identified as black males and fled the area, shooting toward the rec center as they fled the scene.
