Subway groping incident on NYC subway train being investigated by police

NEW YORK, NY – A subway groping incident on a subway train in Greenwich Village is being investigated by police detectives with the city’s 13th Precinct.

The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect connected to a forcible touching incident on a subway train on Thursday, April 1 at, around 08:30 AM.

Police reported that a 29-year-old female victim reported that the suspect approached her from behind and pressed his groin against her buttocks on a southbound 2/3 express train near the West 14 Street and 7 Avenue station.

The suspect is described as a male in his 30s, 6’1″ tall, 180 pounds, with a medium complexion, medium build, and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black cap, black jacket with a hood, blue sweatpants, and light gray sneakers. The victim took photos of the suspect, which are available at DCPI. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline.
