SUFFOLK CO., NY – On April 24, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney K. Harrison, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney, and Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon announced the indictment of 21 individuals on drug and weapons charges at a press conference. The indictment contains a total of 197 counts.
The investigation, which lasted for nearly a year, resulted in the confiscation of 250 grams of fentanyl, 200 grams of cocaine, 220 grams of methamphetamine, 200 narcotics pills, 12 illegal firearms, and nine high-capacity ammunition feeding devices.
One defendant was also indicted for selling fentanyl that led to the fatal overdose of a 25-year-old woman.
Commissioner Harrison emphasized that this operation was not only about seizing drugs and firearms, but also about saving lives. He added that the investigation was a great example of law enforcement agencies working together to take down dangerous criminals.
District Attorney Tierney praised the work of the police department and the sheriff’s office, stating that their collective efforts were instrumental in making Suffolk County a safer place.
The sheriff’s office also expressed gratitude to the police department and the district attorney’s office, highlighting the successful collaboration between the three agencies.
The 21 individuals indicted will face various drug and weapons charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of a weapon.
