NUTLEY, NJ – The Nutley Police Department has arrested a 29-year-old Belleville resident, Leman Kaifa, for allegedly attempting to steal cars in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The arrest was made possible due to the vigilance of a local neighbor, according to Police Chief Thomas Strumolo.

Kaifa was charged with two counts of attempted burglary after he was caught trying to enter multiple vehicles in the vicinity of Lloyd and Warren Streets.

Police said due to the alertness of a resident and the swift response of the Nutley Police Department, the suspect was identified and arrested quickly.
