Queens, NY – Following an ongoing investigation, detectives with the New York City Police Department have made a breakthrough in a murder case that occurred on Sunday, June 7, 2020.

A second suspect has been arrested for the death of a 34-year-old man. The suspect, identified as Nathaniel Johnson, a 57-year-old male residing at 4-03 Astoria Boulevard, was arrested and charged on Monday.

Johnson is facing charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to authorities.

A second suspect was arrested in 2021. Tangerina Wright-Johnson, a 58-year-old female residing at 558 Merrick Road in Lynbrook, was charged with murder two years ago.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 7, 2020, around 6:30 am when police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress near 28-02 8th Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 37-year-old male victim with stab wounds to the chest, who was subsequently pronounced deceased after being transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst. A 34-year-old female victim with a stab wound to her back was also found and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital – Queens. She survived the attack.

The victims were attacked with a knife by an unidentified male suspect following a dispute.
