Chris Christie To Jump Into Presidential Race Next Week

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will enter the growing Republican primary field for president next week, the Daily Caller News Foundation confirmed Wednesday.
Christie is expected to announce his candidacy on Tuesday in New Hampshire at a town hall at Saint Anselm College, the DCNF confirmed. Allies of Christie, who ran for president in 2016, formed a super political action committee (PAC) to support the former governor in his imminent 2024 bid.
“A non-traditional campaign that is highly focused on earned media, mixing it up in the news cycle and engaging Trump,” a source familiar told the DCNF. “Will not be geographic dependent, but nimble.”
The former governor’s campaign will attempt to focus on optimism to appease the country’s “exhausted majority,” while Christie intends to brand himself as a politician who speaks his mind and is not afraid to criticize former President Donald Trump, the source told the DCNF.

Tell It Like It Is PAC will be run by Brian Jones, former adviser to John McCain and Mitt Romney’s campaigns for the White House in 2008 and 2012. Bill Palatucci, a Republican National Committee member, will chair the super PAC, Christie ally Russ Shriefer will be a senior adviser and GOP strategist Brent Seaborn will work on voter engagement.
“Governor Christie has proven he’s unafraid to tell it like it is and is willing to confront the hard truths that currently threaten the future of the Republican Party,” Jones said in a statement provided to the DCNF. “Now more than ever we need leaders that have the courage to say not what we want to hear, but what we need to hear.”
