Series of Robberies Strike Manhattan Businesses

MANHATTAN, NY – A series of robberies targeting commercial establishments across Manhattan are under investigation by the Detectives from the NYPD. As of recent developments, four incidents have been linked to this crime pattern.

On Sunday, April 30, 2023, two unidentified individuals entered a commercial establishment at 423 9th Avenue. Using a firearm, they seized merchandise and a 24-year-old male employee’s watch before fleeing in a white four-door sedan. The total value of the stolen property is approximately $4,170.

Following this incident, on Friday, May 12, 2023, four unidentified individuals intruded another commercial establishment at 390 8th Avenue. The group displayed a firearm and a knife, making off with merchandise and $700 from the register. They escaped in a red Hyundai Sonata, leaving behind no injuries and losses worth about $6,500.

One week later, on Friday, May 19, 2023, a similar incident unfolded at 51 West 29 Street. Four individuals robbed a commercial establishment, implying possession of a weapon towards a 19-year-old male employee. Merchandise, $800, and a cell phone were taken, totaling losses of approximately $7,500.

The most recent incident occurred on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, when four unknown male individuals robbed a commercial establishment at 90 West Houston Street. The culprits made off with around $1,400 worth of merchandise.
