Teaneck Man Arrested Following Robbery Investigation

HACKENSACK, NJ – On Monday, June 22, Xiomor Highsmith of Teaneck, NJ was taken into custody on several charges following a robbery investigation. Hackensack Police Department officers responded to a report of a man being chased by others with machetes in the area of Sussex Street and Newman Street.

Upon their arrival, Highsmith was found walking away from the scene with several identified juveniles.

Further investigation led to the discovery that Highsmith had pursued the victim, demanding his cell phone and money while brandishing a knife.

The search of Highsmith revealed a foldable knife and five counterfeit $100 bills. Highsmith was criminally charged and transported to the Bergen County Jail. Anonymous tips can be submitted at www.bergencrimestoppers.org or by calling 844-466-6789.
