Driver charged in Fatal Pedestrian Crash Involving Elderly Woman

NEW YORK CITY, NY – Following an ongoing investigation, Jose Naula Remache, 45, of Queens, NY, was arrested and charged with Motor Vehicle Failure to Yield to Pedestrian on Wednesday.

The charges come after an incident on Wednesday. At around 3:45 pm, police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near Amsterdam Avenue and West 106 Street. A male pedestrian was hit by a 2017 Ram van, causing lacerations and head trauma. The victim was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in stable condition but succumbed to his injuries later that day.

The deceased is identified as Angel Rodriguez-Albuquerque, 74, of New York, NY. The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad continues the investigation.
