Two Men Arrested for Multiple Bethesda Vehicle Thefts

BETHESDA, MD – Matthew Alfonso Scott Jr., 23, and Manden Jervell Turner, 22, have been arrested for their involvement in multiple vehicle thefts in Bethesda. The reported offenses occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. Around 3:18 a.m., officers responded to a theft report from an auto on the 8500 block of 16th Street.

A preliminary investigation revealed that two males, donned in black attire and blue rubber gloves, were seen attempting to open multiple car doors in the vicinity. Officers arrived at the scene and apprehended two individuals matching the given description. The suspects, identified as Scott Jr. and Turner, were taken into custody.

Upon searching Scott, officers found a window punch and blue latex gloves. Turner was found in possession of a loaded 10mm High Point handgun, along with a backpack containing a stolen purse, multiple stolen wallets, and bank cards.

The Montgomery County Police Department transported Scott and Turner to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

Scott has been charged with multiple theft-related offenses from autos and released on an unsecured personal bond. Turner faces charges of multiple thefts from autos and firearm offenses, and he is currently held without bond.
