Allentown Police Shoot and Kill Armed Suspect

ALLENTOWN, PA – Early Monday morning, an incident escalated to a fatal police shooting in Allentown. According to the Allentown Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of 6th and Turner streets around 3:40 a.m. following reports of a man brandishing a firearm.

Upon arrival, the officers encountered 27-year-old Dominick Hogans. Hogans attempted to flee, brandished his firearm and opened fire on the officers. The Allentown Police officers returned fire, hitting Hogans.

First aid was immediately rendered to Hogans at the scene. He was then transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation. Additional details surrounding the incident are yet to be released.

This incident marks the second fatal officer-involved shooting in Allentown this year.
