GAITHERSBURG, MD – Montgomery County Department of Police responded to a stabbing incident at the Unique Thrift Store on Veirs Mill Road, Saturday around 10:36 am. A suspect, an unidentified male, allegedly stabbed four people.
An adult female was found at the scene with apparent stab wounds. Minutes later, two more women and an adult male, all with stab wounds, were found on Colie Drive.
Two female victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while the third is in critical condition. The male victim was treated at the scene.
The suspect, armed with a butcher’s knife, was located on Havard Street around 10:47 am. He reportedly lunged at an officer despite commands to drop the weapon, leading to the officer discharging their firearm. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division and the Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigation Division (IID) are handling the investigation.
