Suspect Sought in East West Highway Commercial Burglary

SILVER SPRING, MD – A commercial burglary that occurred on Tuesday, May 30, at the News & Valet shop located on the 1300 block of East West Highway, is being investigated by detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section.

While the store was closed, between Friday, May 26, and Tuesday, May 30, an unidentified individual broke the lower window of the store with a rock, entered the store, and stole an undisclosed amount of merchandise.

The suspect, believed to be a 50-year-old Black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with facial hair, was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, white skull cap, camouflage pants, and gray athletic shoes.

The Montgomery County Department of Police requests public assistance in identifying the suspect.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
