STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Thursday, around 8:00 am, the Stafford Township Police Department was called to the Stafford Park Apartments due to a reported disturbance.

The apartment staff members had relayed hearing potential gunshots, broken glass, and screams from an apartment.

Upon investigation, the noise was traced to a 40-year-old male who was experiencing emotional distress, alone inside his apartment. Additional support from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, Patrol Officers, and Stafford Township Emergency Medical Services was called to the scene.

Officers spent nearly two hours trying to communicate with the man. They eventually entered the apartment, taking the male resident into custody without any further incident.

He was subsequently transported to the Southern Ocean Medical Center for necessary medical attention. As of now, the investigation continues and no charges have been filed.
