Trump’s Arraignment Date Set In Fulton County Election Case

Katelynn Richardson on August 28, 2023

Former President Donald Trump and his 18 co-defendants are scheduled to appear in Fulton County, Georgia, for their arraignment on Sept. 6.

Trump will appear in the courtroom at 9:30 a.m. to hear the charges against him and enter his plea, followed by Rudy Giuliani at 9:45 a.m. and his other co-defendants in 15-minute increments throughout the day, The Hill reported. The former president turned himself in and had his mug shot taken at the Fulton County Jail last week, where he was released on a $200,000 bond.

Trump, who was indicted by a grand jury August 14 for his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, faces 13 charges in the case, including violating Georgia’s “Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations” (RICO) Act.

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, another one of Trump’s co-defendants, has a hearing scheduled Monday for his motion to remove his case to federal court. Several other co-defendants are making a similar effort.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
